Demetres is certified in Special Education (K-12) and Leadership and trained in Lindamood Bell, a reading program that seeks to close literacy gaps for struggling readers. Demetres has held various leadership roles, including Preschool District Lead, Special Education Program Specialist, Special Education Assistant Principal, and Student Services Coordinator. She is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children and the Division of Early Childhood (Family Committee) organizations.
Her life's motto is "Pay it Forward." To do this, and as the mother of a daughter born with developmental delays, Demetres aspires to support families by assisting children with varying learning disabilities and improving their academic results.
